Mission Statement |
The mission of Goodwill’s Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents project is to change the lives of children who have a parent in prison by recruiting caring, concerned adults willing to befriend and nurture them in a mentoring relationship. |

Recruitment Focus |
Mentors at least 18 years of age from all walks of life. We also seek to partner with churches to recruit, encourage, and support mentors from their congregations. |

We primarily focus on community-based mentoring; however, we may set up site-based mentoring in some cases to meet the needs of the mentor and mentee.

Target Population |
We serve children between the ages of 4-18 who have at least one parent in a state or federal prison, or a parent currently in a local correctional facility who has formerly been in a state or federal prison. |

Educational Service District 101, Department of Corrections, Boys and Girls Club. |

Mentor and mentee agree to a one-year commitment. |

| What are Your Greatest Needs |
We need mentors. We especially encourage men to apply. We need men and women able and willing to commit 1-2 hours per week for a year to be a friend to a child. We also need short-term volunteers to help with group activities for the children on our waiting list. |
